Tsinghua University formally established the Laboratory of Flexible Electronics Technology. This marked a significant milestone, as we became the first and only national key research institution specializing in flexible electronics technology.
Yuan Jiajun, secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Zhejiang Province at that time, visited Zhejiang Tsinghua Flexible Electronic Technology Research Institute and highly affirmed the progress of scientific and technological research of the institute, emphasizing that flexible electronic technology is a common technology and also the future strategic direction.
Li Keqiang, then Premier of The State Council at that time, visited the National Natural Science Foundation of China and presided over a symposium, in which Professor Feng Xue, director of the laboratory, made a special report on the original innovation of science and technology and personnel training.
President Qiu Yong and Vice President Zeng Rong of Tsinghua University at that time went to Jiaxing to sign a memorandum of understanding on jointly building a national key laboratory and jointly promoting the construction of the laboratory.
Chen Xu, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tsinghua University at that time, and You Zheng, then Vice President of Tsinghua University, came to guide and spoke highly of the cooperative innovation mechanism and scientific and technological achievements of the THUFET and IFET.
Zhejiang Tsinghua Flexible Electronic Technology Research Institute (referred to as:IFET) officially registered in November 2017, is a new high-end scientific research institution jointly created by Zhejiang Provincial Government and Tsinghua University, and is also an off-campus entity of The Center for Flexible Electronics Technology. The current staff of the Institute is 215 people, including 19 national-level talents.
The Center for Flexible Electronics Technology, Tsinghua University (referred to as: THUFET) founded in September 2017, is attached to the School of Aerospace Engineering and co-built by the Department of Chemistry, the Department of Electronic Engineering, the Department of Precision Instrument, the Department of Physics, and the School of Materials Science and Engineering. Our Center have researchers 60 people, including 41 national talents.
