The Laboratory of Flexible Electronics Technology, based at Tsinghua University, is the result of a progressive partnership with the Institute of Flexible Electronics Technology of Tsinghua, Zhejiang (IFET-THU). Our lab serves as an innovation hub in the expanding field of flexible electronics technology, pioneering advancements and setting the standard for the future of electronics. We dedicate ourselves to cultivating an ecosystem that fosters innovation, collaboration, and sharing, thus propelling us to the forefront of this cutting-edge technology.
The laboratory has a scientific and technological innovation team led by academicians and distinguished scholar, including 2 academicians, 24 national high-end talents as well as 20 national young talents, forming an international first-class research team. The laboratory has a variety of modes of talent cultivation mechanisms, established a systematic talent development channel, through the high-end talent special dual engagement, the international leading PI team management system, and market-oriented incentive mechanism, to provide important support for the development of high-end talent, young talent, innovation team.
We aim to build an advanced experimental platform for flexible electronics technology with top equipment and excellent talents and to cooperate with relevant enterprises to train process talents and tackle industrial technology problems under the condition of satisfying relevant scientific research in the laboratory, so as to make due contribution to the local economy by training industrial talents and upgrading industrial technology.
The research team published more than 1000 SCI papers in the area of flexible electronics technology within the last 6 years, with over 50 Science/ Nature and Sub-journals. Our team organized a series of special issues on flexible electronics technology on top. More than 500 related national invention patents were granted.
The lab organized four international academic conferences on flexible electronics technology. The on-site conference attracted more than 400 and 600 participants in 2018 and 2019. Around 200,000 audiences watched online lectures in the last two years. Over 60 speakers were invited to share their insightful recent works on ICFEs. In 2022, the lab won the gold medal at the International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva. The development achievements of the lab have been reported by many mainstream media such as "CCTV" and have been highly affirmed by the central government and leaders at all levels.
